I was hired to design JIMMY BUFFETT’S ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE at the Walnut Street Theater based on my expertise with dance musicals. This material was not exactly in my wheelhouse, and my learning curve was steep. Operatic in scale, this production had 177 individual costume looks, which we shopped and fit over a 3 month period. My favorite number was Cheeseburger in Paradise where we dressed the dancing ensemble as the components of a cheeseburger named in the lyrics. The shop and I were very creative in making costumes for Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes,Ketchup and Mustard and Heinz 57 Sauce.

PRESSDressing for the tropics: Delaware County costume designer makes 'Margaritaville' colorful.
“This show has the most costumes of anything I’ve designed in my entire 35 year career.”
“The color palette of these costumes is so vivid that often during ensemble numbers, the stage looks like a rainbow of tropical hues: lemon, lime, tangerine, orange and more.”
